1. Description - Explain WHAT is included in the work as clearly as possible. Include many details so someone who is not looking at the image can visualize the work. (This is CONTENT) 2. Analysis - Break down the elements and principles of design, including WHERE they are present in the work and HOW they are used. Go in depth with two terms on the left and two terms on the right from the chart above. (This is COMPSOITION) 3. Interpretation - Determine the meaning in the work. This gets to WHY the photograph was taken and the FUNCTION that it serves. 4. Judgement - Decide on the criteria for evaluating the work in order to gauge the level of success.
