EPICS Design Phase 2

PHASE 2 - PROJECT SPECIFICATION

  • DETERMINE TEAM ROLES
    • Project Leader & Liaison is responsible for the overall operation and effectiveness of the team and provides planning, direction, and guidance.  They ensure the project partner's needs are ment by the efficient and timely completion of deliverables in the a high quality manner.  They are responsible for developing the Project Charter to ensure the overall purpose and direction is outlined clearly.  They use a Gantt Chart to delegate and track team responsibilities.  They oversees and manage all communication between the team and the project partner and other stakeholders.They will also draft all Email Communications to coordinate Design Reviews, develop Decision Matrices, and prepare a Delivery Checklist. 
    • Financial Officer & Investigative Tech is responsible for researching materials along with developing and managing the team’s budget.  She will also evaluate both the project constraints and user needs to ensure all requirements are met.  She is responsible for the Prior Art, Project Specification and Requirements, Material List, User Analysis, Testing Protocol, and DMFAE Matrices.
    • Construction Manager takes the lead on the design and construction of the project.  They are responsible for the Detailed Sketch, Physical Prototype, Building Plan, Equipment Training, Final Construction, as well as the User Manual​
    • Project Archivist & Webmaster is responsible for making sure that the team is documenting all of the work being done throughout the scope of the project.  However, they are not responsible for documenting other team members work, rather they are responsible for making sure the documentation is complete, thorough, and well organized. They take a lead role in organizing the team's Google Drive folder as well as updating and maintaining the EPICS@FXC Website.  The team page should contain updated information on all the projects that are being undertaken by the team as well as information on all of the team members. They will create slides and coordinate responsibilities for ensuring a detailed and organized presentation leads to a successful design review.

    • Number Tasks down Column A, Start Date Column B, and End Date Column C
    • Begin Numbering Weeks 1-18 across Row 1
    • Highlight cells in different colors for each team member and include key at the bottom of the chart
    • Include Status in last column (Active = 0% Complete, Complete = 100% done, or list 25%, 50%, 75%)
